Hi,

Our names are Mark & Amy, we are a couple aged 43 & 51.
We have been trying to find a new home since July last year & we would be so grateful if you were able to help us.

A background of our situation:-
We both became homeless when our previous relationships ended.
We lived in the car for a few weeks & then sofa-surfed for another couple of weeks. We have been living in a tent in a friend's garden in Cornwall since August 2022 & we have been informed that their landlord has insisted that this arrangement must end soon.

We were due to move into a property in December 2022 but were informed at the last minute that it was not available after all.
This was very upsetting as the landlord had promised that we would have first refusal on the property once the current tenants had vacated & we had been counting on it.
We are on the council housing register and have also sent hundreds of applications to private landlords all over the South West & Wales.
We are desperately trying to find a special & understanding person who would allow our much-loved pets to live with us also. We have a cat & a chinchilla, both are very clean, well-behaved animals & they do not cause any damage.
They are currently being fostered until we can find a place to live with them.
They are greatly missed and being without them is affecting our mental health & well-being.

Another challenge we are facing is finding somebody who is willing to accept Housing Benefits initially.
We would be claiming benefits at first until we have secured new employment as we are both currently signed off medically due to health issues that have gotten worse since becoming homeless.
We both feel that our health will improve and that we will be fit enough to go back to work once we find somewhere to live and begin to get back on our feet again.

Our budget is up to £900pcm if inclusive of bills or up to £700pcm if not.
We have the deposit to pay & the first month's rent to pay in advance.

We are both very honest & trustworthy people, polite and respectful of others, we just need to find somebody who wishes to help us have the chance to start afresh.
